About Me

After many years of working in primary education, I felt ready for a new challenge. As a result of attending a variety of beautiful and memorable celebrant-led funerals, I began to consider becoming a celebrant myself. After a lot of research into different courses and approaches, I was delighted to train with the 'UK Society of Celebrants'.

As a former teacher, I bring with me various transferable skills such as writing, creativity, attention to detail and communication. I always enjoy meeting people, I am a naturally curious person and love learning about people's life stories.

Over the years, I have taken courses on child bereavement, 'Youth Mental Health
First Aid', learning difficulties and autism. I was also a Samaritan volunteer. I am currently taking a course on Dementia Awareness. I believe that these experiences have all enhanced my natural compassion and empathy.

I live near the beautiful riverside town of Marlow in the Thames Valley, with my husband, two teenage children and two very energetic Labradors. I am very fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful woodland, rolling hills and riverside walks. I gain a real sense of peace and serenity when walking in the countryside or hiking the stunning hills and mountains of the Lake District, Scotland and the French Alps.

My love of travelling began in my early twenties, when I went backpacking around the world for a year. I loved meeting so many new people and experiencing fascinating new cultures. Trekking to to Everest Base Camp, climbing Kilimanjaro and visiting Antarctica are high on my travelling wish list.
I am a keen runner, and have competed in various 10k races, a half marathon and a triathlon.
Another passion of mine is music. I sing in a local choir, performing at community events and concerts throughout the year.
