About Me

After many years of working in primary education, I felt ready for a new challenge. As a result of attending a variety of beautiful and memorable celebrant-led funerals, I began to consider becoming a celebrant myself. After a lot of research into different courses and approaches, I was delighted to train with the 'UK Society of Celebrants'.

As a former teacher, I bring with me various transferable skills such as writing, creativity, attention to detail and communication. I always enjoy meeting people, I am a naturally curious person and love learning about people's life stories.

Over the years, I have taken courses on child bereavement, 'Youth Mental Health
First Aid', learning difficulties and autism. I was also a Samaritan volunteer. I am currently a part time Carer & have first hand experience of supporting people with dementia. These experiences have enhanced my natural compassion and empathy.

I live near the beautiful riverside town of Marlow in the Thames Valley, with my husband, two teenage children and two very energetic Labradors. I am very fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful woodland, rolling hills and riverside walks. I gain a real sense of peace and serenity when walking in the countryside or hiking the stunning hills and mountains of the Lake District, Scotland and the French Alps. More recently I fulfilled a long time ambition of climbing Kilimanjaro whilst raising money for Kidney Research UK.

In my spare time I enjoy running, reading and singing in a local choir.
